Want to make a liberal’s head explode during the Trump administration?
It seems that all Trump has to do is use the “r” word… renovation.
After announcing the ballroom, liberals just about lost their minds, and now Trump is about to do the same thing with the Kennedy Center, where he just hosted the annual Honors event.
The left went crazy when Trump announced his ballroom plans, but even CNN had to admit that the addition of a ballroom to the White House complex made sense.
Currently, the White House can only accommodate about 200 people for an event, which means most state events and other large receptions require either a different venue or they need to erect a temporary structure.
Honestly, over the years, with the money our government has spent paying for rentals, we probably could have built a ballroom 10 times over.
I continue to maintain that had any other president recommended building a ballroom, it would have been well received. This is just a bad case of TDS.
The Kennedy Center has seen more than its fair share of cancellations since Trump took over, so the president made sure that this year’s Kennedy Center Honors were filled with friendly recipients.
So much so, in fact, that Trump decided to host the event himself.
Trump talked about resurrecting the Center from the dead, and he even left a teaser out there for who will be honored next year, but now it appears the next couple of years could be absent from the annual awards event.
You see, Trump dropped a bombshell on everyone about the Center that will surely get the left all stirred up.
Trump announced this week that, rather than allowing the Center to stay open and continue performances, the renovations would take place much quicker if he just shut it down, and that is what he is doing.
As usual, Trump broke the news on Truth Social, stating, "The Trump Kennedy Center will close on July 4th, 2026, in honor of the 250th Anniversary of our Country, whereupon we will simultaneously begin Construction of the new and spectacular Entertainment Complex. Financing is completed, and fully in place!"
Honestly, with all the cancellations we have seen, this is probably the best route to go to allow things to calm down a bit.
The funny thing about this is that even though leftist artists are the ones boycotting the Center under Trump, they will also likely be the people complaining the loudest about the closure over the next two years.
