You just have to love it when a poster child for the Democrats winds up with the cuffs being slapped on.
That is what just happened to the Somali woman, Nasra Ahmed, 23, who recently went viral for her comments about what it is like to be a Somali woman in America.
After claiming she had been wrongfully detained by authorities, she wound up being charged during one of those peaceful protests that have been taking place in Minnesota.
Earlier this month, Minnesota officials ran out to Ahmed before the media to tell her story about how she was wrongly detained by ICE. She claimed, "I got kidnapped by ICE. They came to my neighborhood, they took me, arrested me and detained me for two days. An ICE agent called me a racial slur.”
She continued, "ICE asked to see my ID and decided it was nice to be racist and say really nasty things to me. They pushed me hard, they used a lot of violence, I got a concussion. I was screaming, I was crying, I was so scared. I’ve never been arrested in my life."
Most of the claims she made were never verified, such as her claim that racist comments were made by the agents. Regardless, Dems and the media used her as the poster child for the anti-ICE movement on the left.
What she really went viral for, however, was her comments about being a Somali woman in this country, stating, “It’s kind of like bananas and rice. People don’t think you can eat bananas with rice, but that’s what it’s like to be Somali and American.”
What the left fails to recognize is that one of the main reasons ICE is rounding people up in Minnesota is because of all the fraud that has been found in the state.
Republican election attorney Justin Riemer commented on this, as well as other issues and other states, stating, "What you've seen happen in Minnesota and now similar fraudulent schemes in other states, this should be very much a canary in the coal mine for other governmental processes.”
He continued, "Which would include our voter registration and election processes. And it's not somehow immune to the type of corruption that we've seen in Minnesota and in other places."
And the more that ICE and DHS show up, the more protests start popping up all over the state, and guess who wound up making the news again?
Ahmed decided to venture out to the protests and was rounded up. She was one of more than a dozen people who were arrested after things turned violent, again, at one of those peaceful protests.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrests, stating, “Federal agents have arrested 16 Minnesota rioters for allegedly assaulting federal law enforcement — people who have been resisting and impeding our federal law enforcement rights.”
She continued, “We expect more arrests to come. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: NOTHING will stop President Trump and this Department of Justice from enforcing the law.”
So, now I am just waiting for the excuses to fly, such as this is all Donald Trump’s fault, and that he drove her to violence. Remember, when in doubt, blame the bad orange man!
