Today is the 40th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. As many of the nation watched the horror in real time, Ronald Reagan did what all great presidents do… he stepped up at a time when the nation needed something positive to grasp upon, and he chose allowing nothing to get in the way of making brave, bold new adventures for the sake of advancing mankind:

"The future doesn't belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave. The Challenger crew was pulling us into the future, and we'll continue to follow them."
