Several days ago, Trump warned Iran that an “armada” was headed its way for a possible strike.
Reports then surfaced that the Ayatollah had gone underground in fear of a possible attack.
Well, now a defense expert believes that USS Abraham Lincoln, the anchor ship in Trump’s armada, could be susceptible to being swarmed by an Iranian drone attack.
Trump has done this before, and I will never understand why he telegraphs moves like this.
It is not exactly like you can hide a carrier moving into position, but why give the enemy any additional warning about a possible attack?
To that point, Trump stated, “We’re watching Iran. We have a big flotilla going in that direction, and we’ll see what happens,” describing the fleet as an “armada.”
Trump has previously commented that Iran contacted him and told him it would not be carrying out more than 800 planned executions, but Iran had denied that the conversation ever took place, stating, “This claim is completely false; neither does such a number exist, nor has the judiciary made such a decision.”
With the threat of an attack looming, reports surfaced that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had gone underground in case Trump pulled the trigger.
He had reportedly retreated to a bunker that was amid an elaborate tunnel system.
In his absence, Masoud Khamenei, 53, the youngest son of the supreme leader, was taking charge of the daily operations of the Islamic Republic.
This, as far as we know, is the first time that the supreme leader has retreated underground in about six months, having done so during the 12-Day War with Israel.
As formidable as our Navy is, Cameron Chell, CEO and co-founder of Draganfly, says Iran has a drone operation that could create some problems for our carrier.
He stated, “Iran’s drone capabilities are worth well into the tens of millions of dollars.” He added, “If hundreds are launched in a short period of time, some are almost certain to get through.”
Chell continued, “Modern defense systems were not originally designed to counter that kind of saturation attack. For US surface vessels operating near Iran, warships are prime targets.”
In terms of the media, this administration is reeling right now, so I cannot even begin to imagine the damage if the Lincoln were taken out by a drone strike. I am leaning toward Chell grabbing some attention, but I have to admit, the thought of how bad this would be if Trump lost a carrier to Iran is not sitting well with me, so let's hope Chell is just being dramatic here.
