If Democrats truly want to dial down the tensions in Minnesota, they would be backing off the rhetoric, but they continue to make things worse.
For instance, AOC is accusing federal agents of conducting an “execution,” while other Democrats are calling it murder, well before they have all the facts of the case.
Governor Tim Walz is even worse, literally comparing the ICE crackdown in Minnesota to the Anne Frank story.
It took about five seconds for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to use the second shooting as a reason to attack ICE agents.
She posted, “This appears to be an execution by immigration enforcement.”
She continued, “I am absolutely heartbroken, horrified, and appalled that federal agents murdered another member of our community. It is beyond shameful these federal agents are targeting our residents instead of protecting them.”
She is “heartbroken,” yet she and her fellow Democrats are the ones who continue to push Minnesota residents to get out in the streets and protest ICE rather than supporting the apprehension of illegal immigrants.
Walz loves comparing ICE to the Gestapo, but this time, he just went too far.
During his press conference this weekend, he stated, “We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank.”
He continued, “Somebody’s going to write that children’s story about Minnesota.”
Walz is clearly not interested in dialing down the rhetoric. It is comments like this that led Renee Good and Alex Pretti to believe they had carte blanche to get in the faces of federal agents.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt unleashed on Walz for his rhetoric with a blistering post on X.
She wrote, “Tim Walz does NOT believe in law and order. No amount of propaganda from his allies in the liberal media will convince the American people otherwise.”
She later added, “Walz refuses to allow local and state law enforcement to cooperate with ICE in arresting and removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from Minnesota communities.”
I have said this all along. Democrats are only interested in making political points, and if they have to see bodies stacked up to get power back, that is what they are going to do. Now is a time for calmer heads to prevail, but Dems just keep pouring more gasoline on this fire in an effort to get Trump to back off his immigration crackdown.
