There is only one person in the news cycle who is taking it on the chin anywhere nearly as bad as Trump these days.
That would be Kamala Harris, as a memoir for Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro may have just driven the final nail in her career.
Even the Democrat-friendly media is turning against her, as the Washington Post just posted a blistering op-ed against her.
Shapiro covered the interview with Harris’s team in his book, “Where We Keep the Light.”
The popular Democrat was aghast at the questions he was asked, writing, “Had I been a double agent for Israel?” Adding that the vetting team responded, “Well, we have to ask.” Have to ask? Really!
Dana Remus, former White House counsel, was the individual asking the questions, and continued, “Have you ever communicated with an undercover agent of Israel?”
Shapiro wrote, “If they were undercover, I responded, how the hell would I know?”
Shapiro did not hold the line of questioning against Remus, but he definitely drew some red flags for the people around Harris who put the questions together.
Harris downplayed snubbing Shapiro in her book, but we all know the real reason why she did not pick him… she was afraid of losing the far-left vote who despise Israel and everything it stands for.
What is shocking is that Harris thought she could write her memoir and not be called out by Shapiro for not telling the whole story.
It is pure speculation on my part, but I would wager that Shapiro wrote his book solely to put a fork in Harris’s political career.
On Friday, author James Kirchick slammed Harris for buying into conspiracy theories about Shapiro, later adding, "Assuming that Remus and Holder are both familiar with Google, however, it’s fair to suspect that the real reason the Harris campaign was concerned about Shapiro was that he’s a vocally pro-Israel Jew."
He wrapped up his op-ed, stating, "By casting aspersions on one of the Democratic Party’s most loyal and generous constituencies, progressives have shown what side they’re on.”
In real time, I had written that I was shocked that Harris did not pick Shapiro. While I don’t think she would have won the election, I have no doubt she would have carried Pennsylvania and possibly Michigan with Shapiro on the ticket.
She picked Walz, in my opinion, because she knew she could walk all over him, while Shapiro had a higher office in mind and would have wanted input in the administration. Harris was not about to give up the limelight, so she snubbed him, and now it may have cost her everything.
