The reactions to the second shooting by an ICE agent of an American citizen were about as predictable as it gets.
The Trump administration is circling the wagons, and Democrats are calling it an execution to try to defund ICE.
This is a dream scenario for AOC, who has been trying to have ICE dismantled since she took office.
The Trump administration is claiming the “victim” of the shooting came there with bad intentions.
For instance, top Trump aide Stephen Miller stated, "A would-be assassin tried to murder federal law enforcement and the official Democrat account sides with the terrorists.”
As Democrats made their case against the agent and the agency, Miller responded, "An assassin tried to murder federal agents and this is your response.”
Yes, Mr. Miller, that is their response because this was their gameplan all along. They have been waiting for this exact scenario. If it was not apparent before Renee Good was shot and killed, it was very apparent after, as Democrats ramped up the rhetoric instead of toning it down.
Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) went right after the Nazi theme as soon as the story broke.
He stated, “There’s multiple officers trying to wrestle this guy to the ground. He is lawfully carrying a weapon. They disarm him and then they shoot him in cold blood.”
He continued, “This is the kind of stuff that you see in movies from Iran, from North Korea, from the Nazis in Germany. This is gestapo-type stuff happening in the streets of America. And it’s got to stop.”
Yes, he was lawfully carrying a weapon, but he was also extremely aggressive with officers. Had he stood on the sidelines, he never gets into that confrontation with officers. But he chose to interject himself into their operations, and that is a recipe for disaster.
Then we have AOC, who is now frothing at the mouth at the opportunity to end ICE once and for all.
She stated, “There’s a second angle that appears to be circulating much closer to the incident where you see the victim, I believe his name is Alex Pretti and immediately preceding that incident in ICE officer had pushed violently a woman to the ground and he had come over to help get her up.”
She continued, “And that is what precipitated this incident. That very quickly led to an execution, a deadly shooting in the street. What we are seeing here is a momentous, pivotal moment for the United States. And I cannot underscore enough how precipitous this moment is.”
Trump won’t back off, and Democrats are turning up the heat. With the media on the side of Democrats, we all know how this ends for Republicans. Let me just warn everyone now… don’t be surprised to see a significant number of Republicans who are up for re-election to start to distance themselves from Trump out of self-preservation. Right or wrong does not matter now because it is all about the narrative, and right now, Democrats are winning that battle in the media.
