Trump snubs Canada on Board of Peace

For all the whining about Trump being a war monger and a bully, it is rather ironic that he created the Board of Peace.

What is even more interesting is the countries that robustly joined and the ones who refused after it was announced.

That would not include Canada, however, as Trump has banned it from joining, at least for now.

The Board of Peace

Trump loves to grab the spotlight on the world stage, and he did it in a big way in Davos this week.

Trump announced the Board of Peace, with the White House stating, “Today, in an historic ceremony in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald J. Trump formally ratified the Charter of the Board of Peace — establishing it as an official international organization.”

It continued, “President Trump, who is serving as the Board’s Chairman, was joined by Founding Members representing countries around the world who have committed to building a secure and prosperous future for Gaza that delivers lasting peace, stability, and opportunity for its people.”

The board was going to cut across many lines, with adversaries sitting at the same table in an effort to create global peace.

Something wrong

Whenever Trump does something, you know Democrats will find something wrong with it. As others have stated before me, he could find the cure to cancer, and because it was the bad orange man, Dems would complain.

As soon as the board was announced, former White House adviser Susan Rice started to ring the bell, stating, “First of all, the composition of that board is, really a parade of authoritarian strongmen and dubious democrats, who who may have been elected, once or twice like Orban and, have governed as autocrats.”

She continued, “There really are no serious, democratic partners yet to have joined that board with the arguable exception of Israel and their circumstances are rather unique in this regard.”

The cost of joining the board is at least $1 billion, and the only reason many of our so-called allies are not on the board is that they are refusing to be a part of it. France, Sweden, the UK, Spain, and Norway have all declined their invitations. That amounts to one of the worst cases of TDS I have ever seen.

Canada gets snubbed

Canada likely would not have joined anyway, but Trump decided that he did not want Canada in his sandbox, so he pulled the invite.

Trump wrote to Canada’s PM, "Dear Prime Minister Carney: Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time.”

Trump also took a shot at Canada during one of his pressers, calling out Canada for not being grateful for the Golden Dome, as it will be protected by the defensive system simply because of logistics. Trump stated, “I watched your prime minister yesterday. He wasn't so grateful. They should be grateful to us, Canada. Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.”

I would think this board would be a good thing, or at least its intentions appear so on paper. But it now seems as though all the Democrat leaders despise Trump so much, they will avoid joining solely to push the narrative that Trump is now in bed with a bunch of dictators and strong-armed Middle East rulers.
