Whether you support Trump or not, I think we can all agree that the man loves to talk, especially about himself, and this usually turns into long, crazy rants.
This was Trump before he ran for office; it was definitely true of Trump after winning in 2016, and it is true of Trump now.
Yet, while ignoring all the signs about Biden, even making up lies to cover for him, now the media is using that same behavior in an attempt to disqualify Trump in a way it never did to Biden.
The list of excuses for Biden falling up steps, falling on stage, and his endless blank stares into the camera are well documented, but I wanted to focus on the excuses given after his debate for this report.
The first round of excuses was jet lag and a cold, claiming that Biden was short on rest after his overseas trip, even though he buried himself at Camp David for nearly two weeks to prepare for the debate AFTER having traveled overseas.
Then we were told that Biden had studied too hard, an excuse that would later be debunked by Biden’s former Chief of Staff, Ron Klain, who stated that Biden regularly walked out of prep.
Up until the party turned on Biden, the media, for the most part, was playing along, and only started to go after Biden when the party decided it wanted him out and Kamala was going to get the nod.
While Biden rarely did press events, Trump loves to get in front of the camera, and on the first anniversary of his second inauguration, Trump showed up in the briefing room with a binder and a lot to say.
The press conference went for about an hour and 45 minutes, filled with long Trump rants and claims of how great a job he is doing… all the normal stuff when Trump gets the microphone.
It comes with the territory that Trump will often go off on a tangent, then come back to the original thought sometime later. It has always been this way and likely always will be this way with Trump.
But the man stood there for nearly two hours, talking away, taking questions, and joking with the media. It was vintage Trump.
Trump was not even off the dais yet when the media started to say that Trump was “incoherent'’ or showing signs of mental decline.
For instance, CNN’s Jake Tapper stated, “In between some of Trump’s other newsworthy lines, there were plenty of frankly bizarre, rambling moments, including this one where we dug up the past to complain about Joe Biden.”
CNN anchor Erica Hill added, “No, it was—and we noticed it right away—it was very low energy in the beginning, sort of reading, sort of doing a weave. But it almost seemed at some points he was going back to things that he had already addressed, reading them off of the booklet, the book that he brought out with him.”
These are all the same trigger words used against Biden during his term: low energy, reading from a booklet, rambling, etc. The media is literally taking the GOP playbook to attack Biden and flipping it on Trump. It’s comical, really, that they even have the guts to make these allegations after ignoring Biden’s clear issues for four years.
