After Ronald Reagan, the idea of an American president being assassinated was unthinkable… until Donald Trump.
Trump makes enemies just about everywhere he goes, both domestic and foreign. And while he has had several domestic attempts on his life, Iran has yet to act on its ever-present threat to kill Trump.
However, if Iran does decide to pull the trigger, Trump revealed his standing order on how to deal with Iran should he die from an operative on orders from the terrorist nation.
Last week, Iran decided to taunt Trump with a picture of the failed assassination attempt against him in Butler, PA, during the 2020 election cycle.
The terrorist nation posted a picture of the assassination attempt with a menacing caption.
The caption stated, "This time it will not miss the target."
I am sure all the conspiracy theorists will love that, as there are already questions abound regarding whether the shooter acted alone or was part of some much larger operation to take Trump out.
With Iran ramping up aggression towards protesters in the country, President Trump had warned the nation that if innocent people were killed, the United States would have no choice but to step in.
This week, Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, a spokesman for Iran's armed forces, warned Trump and the United States that the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was hands off.
He stated, "Trump knows that if any hand of aggression is extended toward our leader, we not only cut that hand but also we will set fire to their world.”
According to recent reports, the United States does have additional forces moving into the area, so this is likely Iran getting a little twitchy about the show of force in the area.
I doubt anyone expects Iran to be bold enough to take a shot at Trump, but just in case, Trump has left a standing order on how to deal with the nation should it go rogue.
He explained, “They shouldn’t be doing it, but I’ve left notification. Anything ever happens, the whole country is going to get blown up.” Then he laid into Biden for not being sterner with Iran when the initial threat against Trump was made, adding, “Originally, Biden should have said something, when they made a statement. We always said, ‘Why isn’t Biden saying anything?’ Because he didn’t.”
Trump later added, “But a president has to defend a president. If I were here, and they were making that threat to somebody, even, not even a president, but somebody, like they did with me, I would absolutely hit them so hard. But I have very firm instructions — anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this earth.”
To me, that initial threat should have been met with action, but we all saw how Biden was more interested in being Iran’s friend than in keeping them in line. With Trump in office, I just don’t see them being stupid enough to make a move like that.
