Just when you think the media might actually be making a turn for the better, you start to realize that most outlets will do anything to create a negative buzz about Donald Trump.
Now, my readers know that I have no problem calling out the president when he deserves it, but recent medical hit pieces are not only ridiculous considering how the media treated Joe Biden’s time in office, but they are also blatantly slanted.
As an example, do a quick search for “Trump’s bruised hand” to see how many outlets are not only covering the rumors, but how many of them are making this a feature story even though the issue has been covered to death already.
A few months ago, the president made a golf video with former Major League Baseball pitcher Roger Clemens and his son Kacy at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.
Ben Meiselas of MeidasTouch noticed that Trump’s right leg appeared to be dragging at times, also mentioning bruising seen on his hands. While reviewing the video of Trump’s round, he noted, “He’s dragging that right leg again, and he can’t walk in a straight line.”
There was also a lot made about Trump not walking a perfectly straight line when he greeted Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last year.
The most entertaining aspect of this situation is that the same people scouring videos for a misstep by Trump are the ones who made excuses for Biden when he tripped going up the steps and walking across the stage at commencement event.
There have been a ton of reports about supposed bruising on Trump’s hands, and this even goes back to when he was on the campaign trail in 2024.
Trump has never hidden the fact that his hands bruise easily, and he has even admitted that he wears makeup on them to cover the discolorations because they are unsightly, but he insists that this is not a sign of a larger health problem.
CNN, for instance, reported, “Across a series of events last week, the 79-year-old Trump appeared with discoloration or light bruising on the back of his left hand, in addition to the more persistent bruise on his right hand that has been visible for months.”
That was part of a feature story that even cites doctors who said this is a common occurrence in older people, but the story does everything it can to dismiss that explanation, claiming that the administration has been coy about what is happening, but that is far from the case. Either Trump or his spokespeople have addressed this dozens of times.
With all of the reports afoot, Trump posted to Truth Social in an effort to kill the narrative, writing, "The White House Doctors have just reported that I am in 'PERFECT HEALTH,' and that I 'ACED' (meaning, was correct on 100% of the questions asked!), for the third straight time, my Cognitive Examination, something which no other President, or previous Vice President, was willing to take.”
During his last physical examination, Trump even had advanced imaging done as a precautionary measure because of his age, and the report came back that everything was “normal” and “all major organs appear very healthy.”
Trump will be 80 years old this year, so some of these conditions are normal, and I said the same thing about Biden on certain issues. What we went after Biden for was the blank eyes and constant brain freezes. Biden also had a noticeable shuffling of his feet when he walked, nothing at all like what we are seeing with Trump.
The current president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which can result in numbness at times, and is quite typical for someone in his age bracket. You guys know me well enough by now that if I thought Trump was hiding something, I would call him out. I honestly do not believe that to be the case here. It is just the media that are acting more like vultures than reporters.
