When Texas Gov. Greg Abbott redrew district maps in his state, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) became a casualty of the process
If she wanted to stay in politics, she would have to make a run at the Senate, and for her to have any chance of winning there, she would need to elevate her profile.
Well, Crockett is now attempting to do just that, slinging outlandish claims against President Donald Trump.
Earlier this month, Crockett announced her Sneate run, and she did so by invoking Trump’s name, knowing it would get a lot of media coverage and likely a response from the White House.
She stated, “Trump, I know you’re watching, so let me tell you directly.”
Crockett continued, “You’re not entitled to a damn thing in Texas. You better get to work because I’m coming for you.”
Now, if I were in the administration, I would just ignore Crockett, acting as though she were not worth the time, a tactic which would likely lead to the lawmaker making even more desperate moves, but that is not what is happening.
Rather than let it lie, Vice President JD Vance took a shot at Crockett during the AmericaFest event last weekend that was hosted by Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
Vance stated, “And Jasmine Crockett. Oh, Jasmine Crockett. The record speaks for itself. She wants to be a senator, though her street girl persona is about as real as her nails.”
Crockett got the attention she wanted, then came right back at Vance, stating, “Imagine commenting on someone’s nails while at the same time ignoring that the only reason you got your political ‘dream’ job was because your boss incited a violent mob who wanted to hang your predecessor for, oh I don’t know, honoring his oath to the Constitution?!”
She continued, “How about you stop worrying about me, until we are on the Senate floor together & work to stop your boss from bankrupting our country while engaging in the largest corruption scheme we’ve ever seen?!”
Crockett all but guaranteed another response by the White House by calling into question the border numbers being reported by the administration. She stated, “I will acknowledge that what is being reported is that border encounters are lower.”
She continued, “I will also say that we know that this administration has not been the most honest when it comes to reporting numbers, as we know that there’s now reporting that they have not been honest about the jobs numbers.”
Crockett is building this up as a way call out the administration when adjustments to the numbers come in, and they always eventually do. Note how she never said a word when monstrous revisions came in during the Biden administration, though. This, my friends, is professional gaslighting.
I know that the Trump administration will respond, but I really wish the White House would let this dog lie unanswered. Every time the administration responds, whatever is said tends to be portrayed by Crockett as a racist or sexist attack. As it stands now, she has very little chance of winning the Senate seat she seeks. But if you continue to feed the fire, it could wind up growing out of control. My advice: just ignore every word that comes out of her mouth and do not engage.
