Last night, President Donald Trump addressed the nation.
I won’t say it was one of his better speeches, because it was not. And, as usual, Trump exaggerated some numbers, but every president does that.
I will go over the claims Trump made, but more importantly, I wanted to cover the narrative the media and Democrats immediately started to put out about the president, his speech, and the state of the administration.
It infuriates me when Trump pushes bogus numbers, because the facts will do the job here. For instance, Trump said he took office with record-high crime.
While crime was indeed high, it was not “record-high.” Now, had Trump said he took over an administration with the highest crime levels we have seen in four decades, it would have hit the same way and actually been truthful.
Trump has seen considerable promises of foreign investment since he took the reins, but again, the numbers he cited were way higher than what has actually been promised by investors. The president did the same thing with illegal immigrant numbers, way overestimating what we know to be true, when those numbers, again, will do the job as to what a disaster the Biden presidency was in terms of immigration control.
Trump’s claims about cutting the costs of medication were also ludicrous. For instance, if Trump cut the prices of medication by 100%, that would mean the medication was free, but he claimed to have cut the medication costs by as much as “600%” in some cases, which means you would be getting paid 5x the cost you previously paid. Just give the honest numbers. I don’t understand this incessant need for him to lie about these types of things.
After Trump’s speech, Sen. Mark Kelly sat down with former White House press secretary Jen Psaki on the newly rebranded MS NOW network to talk about the speech.
Kelly stated, “Well, initially, I mean, i’m like, he’s just making stuff up and he just says a bunch of stuff and he says, this stuff is going to happen.”
Then came the part you need to pay attention to, as he added, “There’s no policy there. And I kind of wonder, why is he like, so, like angry and desperate and defensive.”
That last part is what we are already seeing blasted out to America by Democrats and the media.
Political analyst Van Jones was then on CNN to discuss the speech, and he stated, “So this is the first time you’ve seen a Donald Trump, he sounded a little scared, he sounded a little nervous. I don’t know, maybe he was just going too fast.”
He added, “I want to read anything into that. But I think if you’re a Democrat who’s sitting here tonight biting your nails, is this guy going to kill us, crush us? I think this is a beatable guy next year. I think he proved it tonight.”
Clearly, the new talking points being pushed are that Trump is “scared,” “defensive,” and “desperate.”
Mark my words, give this a few days to percolate, and you are going to have another one of those mashup videos in which you see 20 different people on 20 different screens saying the exact same thing in unison.
