He has no clue. Zohran Mamdani has not yet taken office in New York City, but he is already proving that he is absolutely clueless when it comes to implementing his agenda. This is a great post by Jonathan Turley, noting how outraged members of the media are over the notion of “neutral” standards being put in place. They are literally willing to lose their jobs rather than be forced to report the news fairly. It shows everything that is wrong with today’s mainstream media…
Today’s “thought” was about how people view success, and how obstacles overcome can lead to an individual believing his or her life is a success, even if those on the outside just don’t see it that way, as far too many people simply associate wealth as the only measure of success.
Our reader comment today is from Raymond F. from Illinois, who responded:
“You hit the nail on the head. We live in a culture that confuses ‘net worth’ with ‘self-worth.’ Booker T. Washington understood that character is forged in the fire of adversity, not in the comfort of privilege. If you measure success by what you have, you will never be happy because someone else will always have more."
“But if you measure it by what you've overcome, no one can take that away from you. Being content with what you have, raising a good family, and sleeping soundly at night because you did honest work -- that is the only definition of success that matters.”
Raymond, I agree. For me, it is about the people around me and having the things that make me happy, versus needing what others have. Once you realize it is not a competition and cut out the toxicity, it is amazing how much more you can enjoy life, even during the difficult times.
