Today’s thought centered around cutting excess government programs and determining what should and should not be on the chopping block to dial back the government's out-of-control spending. Today’s comment comes from Conrad W. out of Missouri, who stated:
“Bastiat summed up the modern American condition perfectly. We have reached a point where half the country believes they have a 'right' to the other half's labor. To answer your question: the essential services are simple -- national defense, border security, and a court system to enforce contracts and laws. That is the Constitutional mandate."
“Everything else needs to be on the chopping block. We should start by abolishing the Department of Education and the EPA, and then end the billions we send in foreign aid. If you can't find it in Article I, Section 8, we shouldn't be paying for it.”
That is a Constitutionally well-educated man. Thanks for the feedback, Conrad.
