We all know how much of a disaster former President Joe Biden’s policies were when he was in office.
It turns out, some of his staffers also knew, and they warned him.
According to some leaked memos from the Biden administration, the then-president ignored stark warnings about his lax immigration policies and just kept allowing record numbers of illegals into the country.
When Biden was campaigning for office in 2020, he made it very clear that he wanted to expand legal immigration as well as have a one-time exception to allow as many as two million migrants into the country.
Biden openly stated his belief that the United States could absorb that many in his first year in office.
The president made small changes in the immigration realm, such as calling all immigrants “non-citizens,” so there was no longer a clear distinction between legal and illegal immigrants.
The media started to refer to such individuals as “asylum seekers,” and the gaslighting show started.
Fast forward to 2024, and Donald Trump nuked Vice President Kamala Harris on the presidential debate stage over the Biden administration’s immigration policies.
During the debate, Trump claimed that other countries were taking “their criminals off the street, and they’ve given them to [Kamala Harris] to put into our country.”
He further stated that “migrant crime” is occurring at “levels that nobody thought possible.”
Voters bit on what he was saying, and for the first time that I can remember, immigration became “the” issue in the presidential election. Trump was very open about his policy agenda: if you were an illegal immigrant, you would be deported.
As it turns out, Biden’s advisers knew that his approach would be a disaster, and they warned him to look for other ways to run his immigration program.
For instance, one advisor told him, “A potential surge could create chaos and a humanitarian crisis, overwhelm processing capacities and imperil the agenda of the new administration.”
Biden disregarded the warning, and all the worst predictions came true, yet he did nothing for three years. Only when Trump started hammering him during the 2024 election cycle did the then-president finally decide to lock down the borders.
The funny thing about this is that for three years, Biden said there was nothing he could do about the influx, and only Congress could solve the problem. But then, once the election cycle rolled around, he dropped the hammer and closed down the border, proving himself to be a blatant liar in the process.
