Two weeks ago, the New York Times published a hit piece against Donald Trump, insinuating that the president's stamina was worsening and that he was showing signs of aging.
Such allegations have now become a theme, as Trump’s health is being questioned vigorously despite the media ignoring Joe Biden’s health the entire time he was in office.
One of the people pushing the Trump health narrative is former Biden administration staffer Meghan Hays, and you will not believe it when you realize who, exactly, she is.
I think it is just silly to compare Trump’s energy level to that of Biden, but after the right went after the former president nonstop during his term in office, you just knew that the leftist media in this country would return the favor with Trump, 79, who is now the oldest person ever elected to the White House.
A recent piece in the New York Times was titled, “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office,” and it claims that Trump has nodded off at events and that he is working much shorter days than he did in his first term.
At one point, the article claims, “Still, nearly a year into his second term, Americans see Mr. Trump less than they used to, according to a New York Times analysis of his schedule. Mr. Trump has fewer public events on his schedule and is traveling domestically much less than he did by this point during his first year in office, in 2017, although he is taking more foreign trips.”
It continued, “He also keeps a shorter public schedule than he used to. Most of his public appearances fall between noon and 5 p.m., on average.” It goes on to document how Trump often sits at events at the Oval Office while everyone else is standing (I seem to remember him doing the same thing during his first term).
Now, let’s go back to visit Biden’s presidency for a few moments before we get to someone else who has been calling into question Trump’s stamina.
During the 2022 Easter Egg Roll event at the White House, Biden was seen aimlessly wandering around the grounds until he found himself being asked questions by the media.
Just as Biden started to discuss the Afghanistan withdrawal with a reporter, a staffer dressed as the Easter Bunny, later identified as Hays, intervened and shuffled the then-president to safety.
Hays was fingered by the media as a key staffer tasked with limiting Biden’s access to the media, or, I should say, limiting the media’s access to Biden. She was, more or less, his caretaker, responsible for making sure he did not embarrass himself.
Hays recently put out a post on X calling Trump’s health into question, claiming that he is “aging rapidly. It should concern us all.” Yet, she was mum about Biden’s health.
The White House responded by releasing work logs showing Trump working as many as 12 hours a day in the office, not to mention the work he does before and after hours, answering calls that are often not part of the records, as the president often handles them in the residence during the early morning hours and late at night.
Now, I am not going to claim that Trump has not looked tired and/or just completely exhausted at times, because he has, but this is nothing like what we saw from Biden when he was in office. Trump still keeps a very busy schedule; he does not hide from the media, and he is traveling all over the world, always hitting the ground running.
Do I think an 80-year-old should be in the White House? To be blunt, no. This is a young man’s game, and eventually, Trump, like any older person, will need to shut it down for a few days to charge his batteries. But we are definitely not seeing the mental deterioration we saw from Biden, at least not yet. I think it is comical that the media that ignored the story on Biden is now making this front-page news for Trump, only 11 months into his term. Trust me, when there are real concerns about Trump on this front, I will be the first person to bring them up.
