Jobs numbers came out today, and unemployment ticked up by 0.1%, but I believe that was to be expected as Trump continues to cut government payroll. This number may upset some people, but I am not one of them. While I don’t necessarily agree with the guidelines for eliminating positions, one thing I am certain of is that our government should not be the biggest employer in the country.
Today’s “thought” centered on my obsession with the national debt, how it has become a real national security threat, and that it will possibly allow foreign countries, including our adversaries and enemies, to dig their collective talons into this nation. Our reader's comment on the subject comes from Helen R. from the home of The Masters, Augusta, Georgia, who stated,
“You are 100% correct, and that Jefferson quote hits the nail on the head. What our politicians have been doing for decades is generational theft, plain and simple. No responsible parent would burden their family with insurmountable debt, yet we allow our government to do it on a scale that's hard to even comprehend."
