Jeffries drops AOC bombshell. Whether we like it or not, it’s happening. AOC is taking over. Read more…
I don’t know why it bothers me so much, but the hand movements when he talks really bother me. That and the constant deflection…
Today’s “thought” was about voting on principle, which sometimes means not pulling the handle for the person the party is pushing on you, such as Democrat Graham Platner. Our comment today comes from Dennis K. out of Maine, who responded:
“It feels like we aren't even given the option to vote on principle anymore. Look at what is happening up in Maine right now with this Platner fellow. The guy has a closet full of personal drama and ugly baggage coming out of the woodwork, and the party leaders are just waving him right through because they want the Senate seat.
“It just shows that character and common decency do not matter to them as long as it gets another reliable vote in Washington. It is really discouraging to see folks willing to look past all that mess just because they treat politics like a team sport. I just wish we had candidates we could actually be proud to stand behind, instead of always having to hold our noses.”
Dennis, you just made my point. There are other options in both the primary and general elections. Stop allowing party officials to dictate who is in these races and who wins them. Stand up and block their choice with someone else. If you don't like the people running, find someone you can get behind, or run for office yourself! Party officials should not decide elections, but that is exactly what is happening in Maine right now.
