Today’s “thought” was about politicians keeping constituents in the dark rather than being fully transparent. Even when we catch them, they try to play dumb, like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), which I covered in a deep-dive report yesterday (to read the full report, click here).
Today’s reader comment comes from Richard G. out of Wisconsin, who responded:
“Telling people to do their own due diligence is a solid principle, but let’s be brutally honest about the reality. Most Americans are working fifty hours a week just to keep the lights on and put food on the table; they simply do not have the free time to spend three hours every night cross-referencing thousand-page congressional bills and fact-checking the legacy media. The Washington establishment knows this perfectly well. They intentionally flood the zone with legislative jargon and manufactured outrage specifically to overwhelm us.
“We absolutely need to arm ourselves with knowledge, but we also need our elected representation to stop hiding behind complex political theater. We need them to deliver clear, hard truths instead of just throwing out slick fundraising soundbites on social media. If we are going to secure a decisive, offensive victory against the administrative state, it requires demanding total transparency from the people we send to Washington, not just turning off the evening news.”
But Richard, that will never happen. And this is exactly why so many people just regurgitate what they hear on TV or by reading a headline.
