Today’s “thought” was about our government being infiltrated from within, and Brian W. had a great comment, stating:
“Cicero's warning hits entirely too close to home. It is incredibly frustrating to watch elected officials actively cheer for our military to fail just because they despise the current administration. When members of Congress align themselves with the UN—an organization that consistently coddles bad actors—it feels exactly like the internal betrayal Cicero described.
“However, I do have some practical concerns about VP Vance’s peace negotiations. While I fully support our forces executing a decisive, offensive victory to cripple their military infrastructure, the Iranian regime has never negotiated in good faith. Sitting at the table with a state sponsor of terror makes me uneasy. We need to ensure any deal actually neutralizes the threat permanently, rather than just signing a piece of paper that hits the pause button on their aggression until they rebuild.”
I agree on all fronts, Brian. Just as I said with the Taliban in Afghanistan, I don’t trust Iran to uphold its part of the deal. Don’t get me wrong, make the deal, but if they fall out of line and don’t uphold their side, the days of diplomacy are over.
