Call me crazy, but the last person I would trust to interpret what our Founding Fathers wanted regarding elections would be Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA)…
Today’s “thought” was inspired by a Mark Twain quote about how lies travel much quicker than the truth, and what we should do about the media and Democrats purposely pushing bogus narratives to hurt Republicans.
Today’s response comes from Clay T. in Nebraska, who stated:
“You can't ‘fix’ a system that is working exactly as it was designed to. The media knows the lie generates the outrage, the clicks, and the votes. By the time the truth puts its shoes on, the election is over or the bill has passed. The retraction is a legal formality; the damage was the goal.
“The only way to fight it is to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt. Assume the headline is a narrative until proven otherwise, and keep supporting independent voices that actually care about the facts. We have to be our own fact-checkers now.”
Clay, there is not a word you said that I disagree with, but the reality is that the majority of people formulate their opinions on headlines. Until we fix that, this problem will continue.
